About the Class
In this class, you will be introduced to the Malay Kampong Cuisine.
Malay cuisine is known for its vibrant and diverse flavors, eclectic influences and rich history. Malay food is strong, spicy and aromatic, combining the rich tastes of the many herbs and spices commonly found in Southeast Asia. If you're a food enthusiast. this is a class not to be missed. Here, you will find some of the most interesting and complex flavors in the world.
*Do take note that there is a requirement of 2 pax for class to begin.
Malay Kampong Menu:
1. Nasi Kerabu / Nasi Ulam – Blue Coloured Rice with fish and herbs
(different version from that from my Ubin class)
2. Sambal Belachan
3. Assorted Fresh Salad
4. Dried Prawns Coconut Sambal
5. Malay Style Chicken Soup

From organic farm trips to intimate classes in a century-old Kampong House on Pulau Ubin, Cookery Magic offers a friendly home atmosphere courtesy of Ruqxana Vasanwala, an one-time engineer, conference organiser and IT entrepreneur, who gave it all up to pursue her passion for cooking. The hands-on cooking classes are conducted in Ruqxana’s home in where she has created a peaceful escape with bohemian decor, a Balinese garden, and her 8 cats!
